The Executive Team of Goodman Networks is the visionary strength of our company. These experienced individuals came together to create the complete Wireline, Wireless and OEM Telecommunications Services Company focused on creating long-term win-win synergies through quality processes and the hiring and management of world-class personnel to help our clients achieve the project and program success that they require.
Most of our current executives and directors have worked as amiable colleagues for several years here at Goodman and have had decades of shared experience at other companies. These long-term relationships benefit communication, focus and direction of the Company internally and garner credibility and admiration of those within the industry.
John Goodman, Chief Executive Officer. John Goodman is co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Goodman Networks Inc. Mr. Goodman has 15 years of telecom experience. Mr. Goodman’s telecom career began with Bell Atlantic Professional Services managing a variety of services throughout the southwest region. Later, he subsequently managed Central Office Environment Operations for Bell Atlantic Professional Services before accepting a management position with GTE at the Network Operations Center in Irving Texas where he was involved in the management and support of SONET, ATM, and Frame Relay networks nationwide. Post merger, while at Verizon he provided network design and support services for internal and external customers. In 2000 Mr. Goodman left Verizon to co-found Goodman Networks. Mr. Goodman holds a bachelors of business administration degree from Texas Tech University.
James Goodman is co-founder and a board member of Goodman Networks Inc. He has served as VP EF&I Services for Harvard Technologies, Executive VP and Co-Founder of Greater Bell Communications, Director of Business Development for Bell Atlantic Professional Services and Regional Manager for OSP Services. James has a Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University.
Danny Wade is President and Chief Operating Officer of Goodman Networks. Prior to Goodman Networks, Danny served in various executive positions for Alcatel’s North America business. His last position was Senior Vice President - Quality, Services and Operations, where he was responsible for overall quality strategy and initiatives, all customer facing service related activities, as well as end-to-end Supply Chain/Operations activities. Prior to that, he served as Group Vice President & COO for the Optical Network Division in North America. Danny also served as Group Vice President of Operations for Alcatel USA (1999 to August 2002) and represented Alcatel Americas on operations strategy and direction. Danny joined DSC Communications Corporation in June 1990 as Director of Materials and Component Engineering. He was promoted to Vice President of Operations Engineering, with responsibility for numerous corporate and operations support engineering functions. Prior to Alcatel’s acquisition of DSC Communications, Danny served as Vice President of DSC’s European operations activities located in Denmark and Ireland. He began his career in a variety of managerial and technical positions for AT&T Network Systems in Oklahoma City from 1983 to 1990. Danny has a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Oklahoma, as well as graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma and Purdue University. Danny currently serves as a member of the University of Oklahoma Industrial Engineering Advisory Board.
Gary Barrett, Goodman Networks Chief Financial Officer, has held CFO, COO and CRO positions as a consultant in operations and financial management. For the last 20 years Gary has worked to increase shareholder value by improving operating margin, capital turnover and revenue growth for a variety of companies in manufacturing, services and technology. Gary’s areas of expertise include general management, strategic planning, financial analysis and operations & organization improvement. Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Barrett served for five years in the United States Navy as the Combat Systems Officer onboard a nuclear powered fast attack submarine. Gary holds an MBA in Finance from Indiana University and a BS in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University.
Scott Pickett, Chief Marketing Officer, joined Goodman Networks in February of 2002. Since Mr. Pickett’s tenure began at Goodman Networks, he and the management team have grown the company from $10M in revenue in 2001 to $118M in 2006. Prior to working at Goodman, Scott was the VP of Sales for MindLever Corporation, an enterprise software company located in Research Triangle Park, NC. After raising $4M in venture funding, successfully building the revenue base, and securing five Fortune 100 customers, Scott and the management team sold MindLever to NASDAQ listed Centra Software. Prior to joining MindLever, Mr. Pickett managed highly effective solutions-based sales organizations at two other enterprise software companies. Mr. Pickett graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Computing & Information Science from McKendree College in Lebanon Il.
Jimmy "Skip" Hulett is a former State District Judge and has practiced law in Texas since 1983. He graduated with high honors from Lamar University (B.S. 1980) and received his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law (J.D. 1983). Skip has extensive experience in litigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution. He has always been active in the legal profession and has been a frequent speaker for continuing legal education seminars, civic organizations, and churches. Skip is a past recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He presently serves as Director of Mediation and Arbitration Services for Transitional Ministries, Director for the Association of Attorney Mediators and Director for the Texas Tech School of Law Alumni Association.
Joseph “Joe” E. Hart is Goodman Networks EVP of Field Operations. Prior to coming to Goodman, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Operations for NorthStar Communications Group managing their wireline and wireless operations throughout the US. He had previously served in the wireless broadband industry as Vice President - Global Services for IP Wireless Inc. In this capacity, he was responsible for project management, logistics, network engineering, training, order management and global technical and customer support. Joe has held a variety of senior positions within the telecommunications industry and served in various capacities for companies such as Crown Castle (CCI), Fluor Corporation, AT&T Network Systems (now Lucent), and AT&T International. Joe graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and also holds a Master's of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
Alex Baber, VP Wireline Operations, has 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry, customer network services. Mr. Baber started his career with Nortel where he held several positions within customer service switching division. After leaving Nortel he joined Alcatel USA as Eastern US, Regional Operations Manager (in Atlanta) responsible for all engineering, installation, test & turn-up of all cross connect products in an eighteen state region. Alcatel relocated Mr. Baber to Dallas, TX where he was promoted to Director Customer Service, CLEC, IOC, IXC and CLDC markets. Mr. Baber resigned from Alcatel in 2000 to work for ITI as Director Network Operation, COE Division. In the first 14 months at ITI, Mr. Baber guided this department from a past gross revenue history of $1.0 million per year to $14.2 million. Mr. Baber resigned from ITI. Mr. Baber accepted the position of Vice President, Network Operations for D-TEL Communications, a new start up EF&I service company. In November 2002, Mr. Baber joined Goodman Networks as Director of Transmission Services.
Paul E. Troy, Jr., VP Operations Support – With over 20 years in the Telecommunications Industry, Paul has held management positions in Operations, Quality and Training. After serving in the US Air Force from 1981 to 1985 and the US Marine Corps from 1985 to 1988, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, with honors, from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Paul spent 12 years with Nortel, starting out as a Field Supervisor and was promoted to senior positions within Engineering, Quality and Operations. Prior to joining the Goodman Networks team, Paul held senior management roles in Operations, Business Development and Strategic Planning with General Fiber Communications, SCom and Ajilon Communications. Paul began his Goodman Networks career as a General Manager in Field Operations and now leads the Operations Support team that includes Engineering, Quality, Business Process Improvement, PMO, Logistics, Contracts, Purchasing, Quote Shop, Travel and Safety.
